The Hungry Post Dining Club – Ferragosto celebration at Lido Restaurant at The Surf Club was presented by:

An “Italian summer” was the theme of the day as we hosted friends and tastemakers to join us for our second S.Pellegrino® Essenza x The Hungry Post Ferragosto lunch.

Ferragosto, is an Italian holiday that celebrates the end of summer, and for Italians, this means time to rest and mangiare!

We thought it would be fun to bring this holiday all the way from Italy to Miami and enjoy a perfect Italian summer day with delicious food, refreshing sparkling water, crisp Italian white wines, and of course, good company.

On Saturday, August 19th, guests joined us at Lido Restaurant at The Surf Club for a delicious and intimate Italian meal paired with S.Pellegrino® Essenza flavored mineral water and curated wines by Vias Wine. Picture this: an outdoor table setting, white and blue hydrangeas, floral china, and a fresh summer breeze.

Since opening its doors on New Year’s Day in 1930, The Four Seasons at the Surf Club, has been a destination for Italian Mediterranean dining and retro glamour in Miami, making it the ideal destination for our Ferragosto celebration.

For one afternoon, we took our guests to Sicily, where they sipped on S.Pellegrino® Essenza flavored mineral waters while enjoying Mediterranean dishes.

We started this Italian feast with the S.Pellegrino® Essenza Lemon & Lemon Zest flavored water and a Colosi Salina Bianco 2021 IGP Sicily wine paired with the most delicious antipasto served family style. Dishes included Ricciola al Limone, a sliced yellowtail with “amalfi” lemon dressing; Tonno al Tartufo Nero, a seared bluefin tuna with black truffle dressing; Vitello Tonnato; dressed Oysters; and Montanara, a traditional, crispy, ‘Napoli style pizzetta’.

Moving on to the second course, Hungries chose between a Risotto Zafferano e Liquirizia with saffron and “amarelli” licorice and Branzino al Vapore with “palermitana” sauce and citronette. Our entrées were paired with S.Pellegrino® Essenza Blood Orange & Black Raspberry flavored water and a Vie di Romans Chardonnay Isonzo Ciampagnis DOC 2021 Friuli wine.

We ended the day on a sweet note, of course! Our dessert had all the right textures. The Chocolate & Milk Layers with passion fruit, sea salt ice cream paired with S.Pellegrino® Essenza Tangerine & Wild Strawberry flavored water wrapped up this incredible meal.
