What to expect: It’s been awhile since we dined at Jaya so naturally, we paid them a visit to see what’s new…
Looking up beyond the retractable roof to the night sky above Miami Beach amongst palm trees and a serene pond, the courtyard at the Setai seems more like the inside of a beautiful Asian pagoda than a hotel in Miami. Jaya at the Setai, appropriately named after its well-known interior designer, is a sanctuary amongst the chaos of Collins Avenue. Be prepared to be transported to a fancy Asian oasis with world class service and food to match.

The Menu: The menu features dishes from India, Korea, China, Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam. These flavors are blended throughout the menu, which covers every Asian specialty from Dim Sum to Sashimi, including noodles, curries + meat and fish specialties.

What to order: The Bluefin Tuna is the perfect start to dinner at Jaya. It’s served with avocado, radish, and perfectly seasoned in ginger, shoyu, and kaffir lime. We also loved the Thali platter, which is a great way to try several Indian favorites including chicken tikka masala and a selection of meats and vegetables in various sauces. These were the perfect toppings for the yummy Naan bread! Another standout dish was the Chicken Tikka, served atop a miniature charcoal grill. The chicken is incredibly tender and the tikka seasoning stands on its own, but if you are looking to dip it in something extra, the chicken comes with an unforgettable mint chutney sauce.

How to score a table: We recommend calling ahead for a reservation, but if you are staying at the resort, you are lucky enough to be able to get this amazing food from room service!
