What to expect:  American home cooking with a casual, laid-back fun environment. Using the same ingredients that made Yardbird Table & Bar a top restaurant in the nation, Spring Chicken’s concept brings in southern fare and farm-fresh flavors with a fast-casual setting.

Their motto is Live well. Eat Well. Love every bite.

Spoiler Alert: You will concur the above.

The Menu: Spring Chicken recently introduced their new Rise & Shine Brunch Menu, available only on weekends from 9am-2pm.

What to order: If you’re into Southern flavors for breakfast, this will be your new favorite spot.

Keep it classic with some Chicken & Waffle: Spring Chicken offers a choice of the traditional Chicken & Waffle dish (served with a side of minty watermelon and maple syrup), or the Chicken & Waffle Sandwich (comes with some crispy applewood smoked bacon, grilled egg and american cheese, served on cheddar cheese waffles). Sounds like it is finger lickin’ good? Well, it is!

If sweets are your thing in the AM, you can’t pass up on the Buttermilk Waffles; accompanied with fresh berries, sweet cream and honey butter. FACTS: you will love every bite.

We also got to try the Tater Tot Hash- a mix of crispy tater tots, bacon, caramelized onions & peppers, cheddar cheese and fresh chives. This right here, ladies and gents, is savory perfection!

Other items on the menu are cinnamon rolls, oatmeal, blue-plate breakfast selection and a variety of sides.

Spring Chicken brings us classic southern dishes in a land of arroz con frijoles, and we couldn’t be more thankful for that.

Off the menu: Spring Chicken’s regular menu is also available on the weekends, and heads up: UM students receive a 20% discount with ID.

How to score a table: Just walk right in, they’ve got tables both inside and outside.
