What more can you ask for?! Well there are good drinks, some bites, the occasional pretty view could also be nice, and of course un buen ambiente. Understory located in Little River is the newest outdoor bar & event space by the Jaguar Sun team. This community-driven space is like a jungle with hidden nooks, picnic tables, and live music on Thursday and Friday starting at 7 PM.
Wines will be served by Bad Seed, a weekly pop-up bar led by natural wine legend Karina Iglesias. Iglesias will team up with some of South Florida’s best restaurants every Thursday before Jazz in the Jungle for wood-fired cuisine. Future and existing collaborators include Jaguar Sun, Flour & Weirdoughs, El Bagel, Tacotomia, Sidewalk Diner, Lazy Oyster, and Tigre. And of course, there will also be cocktails by the Jaguar Sun team. Our favorites so far are the gin & cucumber and the frozen espresso.

KLAW ROOFTOP
Neighborhood: Edgewater
Address: 1737 N Bayshore Dr
Good for: Date night, chisme with a view, date night, outdoor seating, eating out with suegros.
Klaw is the newest restaurant and the only rooftop in Edgewater. The menu features a high-quality beef program and sea delicacies.
It’s rare to find a restaurant in Miami with views this nice and where the food is actually good. You have two dining options at Klaw. One is the main dining room and then there’s the rooftop. We’re recommending you head to the roof if you want an outdoor vibe. The rooftop menu is a more condensed version and although you won’t be able to order the tableside Norweigan King crab legs, it’s still worth it.
You can still get the black grouper crudo with caviar, yuzu kosho, finger lime, scallion, avocado, and leche de tigre; the baby-size crab tacos with spicy dashi butter, avocado, lime, and kimchi; and the stracciatella with grilled black mission fig, shaved speck ham, buttered croutons aged balsamic, toasted walnuts, basil oil, and herb salad. Order the Maine lobster roll and picanha that are only available at the rooftop lounge. Klaw is open Monday from 5:30 PM to 10 PM, Tuesday – Saturday from 5:30 PM to 12 AM, and Sunday from 12 PM to 10 PM.
THE CLEAT
Neighborhood: Key Biscayne
Address: Unnamed Road
Good for: Big groups, birthdays, budget-friendly, date night, outdoor seating, kid-friendly.
The Cleat is located at the farthest end of Key Biscayne, located in Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park. If you’re driving into the park, you’ll need to pay $8 or $2 for pedestrians and cyclists. You’re keeping it simple here with your drink order. It’s all worth it for the beachy vibes that will make you feel like you’re in the Bahamas and those ocean views. If you get hungry, check out Boater’s Grill. There will probably be a line but we love this casual spot for some fried fish, fish croquetas, and conch fritters. The Cleat is open on Wednesday from 3 PM to 8 PM, Thursday – Friday from 3 PM to 10 PM, Saturday from 2 PM to 10 PM, and Sunday from 2 PM to 8 PM.
LAGNIAPPE HOUSE
Neighborhood: Midtown
Address: 3425 NE 2nd Ave
Good for:Big groups, birthdays, budget-friendly, date night, outdoor seating, live music, wine bar.
If you’re looking for a spot that can easily be subtly romantic and good for big groups at the same time, then Lagniappe is where you’re going.
Expect a huge backyard with mismatched pieces of furniture that have probably been found at yard sales or are hand-me-downs from abuelita. Lagniappe is versatile and it’s a solid choice for outdoor drinking wine and beer. It’s counter service with a basic food menu that includes cheese, charcuterie, plus grilled meats and veggies. We’ve gone during the week and on the weekends, and there’s always people here. The vibe will add to your big group energy and/or make your date more relaxed. It’s also open every day from 6 PM – 2 AM.
TERRAS
Neighborhood: Little Havana
Address: 528 SW 9th Ave
Good for:Big groups, birthdays, budget-friendly, date night, outdoor seating.
Terras is a tropical rooftop bar and restaurant overlooking the Miami skyline in Little Havana. This is probably the most chill rooftop bar you will find in Miami and we mean that in a good way. Even though it’s located in a Life House hotel, it’s definitely somewhere locals love.
The menu features inventive Latin American bites such as ropa vieja birria tacos and a fried chicken Cuban sandwich. The cocktails on the menu have been created using herbs, fruits, and spices that are grown on the property. We also love that we can add our favorite CBD Vital Tonics for an addition to any of the cocktails. Terras is open Wednesday – Saturday from 4 PM to 12 PM and Sunday from 4 PM – 9 PM. Happy Hour is available on Wednesday & Thursday from 4 PM – 6:30 PM.
LIDO BAYSIDE GRILL AT THE STANDARD
Neighborhood: Miami Beach
Address: 40 Island Avenue
Good for: Big groups, birthdays, date night, outdoor seating, eating out with suegros.
Lido Bayside Grill at The Standard has always been at the top of our list of places to bring out-of-towners, especially when the weather is breezy. It’s the type of place that anyone visiting Miami would be into. And the best part is that the locals like it too.
We love the views, catching the sunset, and the people watching on Venetian Islands. Don’t miss the High Tides Happy Hour – Monday through Thursday from 4 PM to 6 PM. Lido is open every day from 8 AM to 12 AM.
