We want to give you the chance to dine like the stars from the comfort of where you spent most of your quarantine (it’s okay we can all admit there is an indent in our sofas).

Presented by The House of Suntory we are giving you large party Omakase options for you and your guest come Oscar evening, plus what’s watching the Oscars without a little drink in hand. Featured below is each chef’s go-to drink recommendation to enjoy with their flavorsome creations.

What you need to know

The team behind Azabu Miami Beach, The Den and Lolo’s Surf Cantina in Miami Beach has recently launched BUBUSAN. BUBUSAN is a Japanese takeout and delivery concept focusing on Omakase boxes, onigiri and Magic Pizza. The 8-inch, crispy dough Magic Pizza is their signature item and comes in three different flavors: salmon, tuna and avocado.

We have to mention the funky packaging inspired by urban street art. We’re suckers for branding and BUBUSAN did not hold back. Your friends will regard you as the trendiest of the group and be mesmerized by the colorful sushi boxes.

For large orders, call two hours in advance. Pick up your order at Azabu, located inside of Marriott Stanton South Beach on the first floor.

What you’re getting

Not only is the presentation beautiful but the sushi is delicious. Bubusan offers six different Omakase boxes that range in size. The Tiger Style box is the largest with 10 pieces of nigiri, two 4-piece rolls and one onigiri. You can customize your box with any combination from Bubsan’s a la carte menu. We recommend free-styling a few boxes. Make sure to include the Onigiri Spicy Tuna (Japanese rice balls stuffed with different proteins) with spicy mayo and fish roe; and the Creamy Crab Roll with yuzu aioli.

What you need to know

Matsuri is the equivalent of a neighborhood gem and we’ve been coming here since we were pre-teens. Located inside of a casual strip mall off of Bird Road, Matsuri is pure quality and reasonably priced.

This unpretentious spot offers an extensive menu of soups, sushi, sashimi, rolls and Matsuri’s New World (modern dishes with Japanese ingredients). It’s also a great indicator when half the guests are Japanese.

If we were you, we’d call Matsuri at 5:30 PM sharp to place your order. You can also try calling a day before for large orders. Upon arrival, head towards the crowd that is waiting outside of the entrance of this local spot. Chances are you’ll have to wait but be patient Hungries. It’s worth it and your wallet will thank you later.

What you’re getting

If you are hosting an intimate gathering at home, your best bet is to order The Masa Special for three. It comes with 24 pieces of sashimi, sliced shellfish, 15 pieces of sushi and two fish rolls. For a more premium platter go for the Go-To-Ren Special. Count on 28 pieces of sashimi, sliced shellfish, 22 pieces of sushi and three fish rolls. No better way to end your meal than with a handroll. We recommend Ikura with a quail egg. Add a pint of their delicious ginger dressing to your order and you’ll thank us later. A nice dry sake and/or a Japanese beer.

What you need to know

Miami locals have a very special place in their hearts for Pubbelly Sushi. It’s been around for ten years and we’re proud to call it our spot.

Chef Jose Mendin is the mastermind behind this eclectic sushi concept. His creativity and Latin flavors shine through in his unique and vibrant rolls such as the Wagyu Beef Tartare Roll with gochujang mustard, avocado, sesame and truffle poached egg.

What you’re getting

Although this guide is all about sushi, we recommend you add some appetizers to your order. Our favorites include the Buffalo Rockshrimp Tempura and Tostones con Ceviche, a hamachi ceviche with ginger soy, cilantro and red onion.

What you need to know

Peruvian cuisine has been an influential part of the growing dining scene in Miami for quite some time. When creating this guide we had to include Itamae. Itamae offers Nikkei-style cuisine with distinct flavors using Peruvian ingredients and Japanese technique.

The food is visually stimulating and elegantly presented to pair well with the glamorous evening you will be hosting. Each dish is filled with acidic and spicy notes, creamy textures and aji pepper-based salsitas.

The menu includes raw fish delicacies such as tiraditos (sliced raw fish with Leche de Tigre aji) and ceviches (cubed and marinated with citrus). They also have a roll section which makes it fitting to include in our sushi guide.

For smaller takeout and deliveries, place your order via DoorDash, HERE. We recommend going to pick up with a friend so that you don’t have to worry about parking in the Design District.

What you’re getting

Saucey Hungries, this one is for you. We recommend you order the Thirty Three & One Third Roll with crispy white fish, avocado topped with smoked whitefish, acebichado aioli and Kirby’s Dream Land Roll with salmon, avocado topped with salmon tartare, crispy nori, huacatay aioli.

You’ll also need a couple of La Punta cebiches with salmon, red onion, fried capers, tostones, salsa verde, leche de tigre blanca, Rosita tiraditos with octopus, red onion, fried capers white truffle oil, botija olive, ají limo leche de tigre and Conchitas a la Parmesana with the daily catch, avocado topped with scallops, parmesan, lime, leche de tigre blanca.

B-Side by Itamae is the second concept of Valerie, Nando and Papa Chang located inside of the 1-800 Lucky Asian food hall in Wynwood.

B-Side also focuses on Nikkei cuisine with an emphasis on crispy rice, maki and handrolls.

For your viewing party choose one of the two platters for large parties. Their Signature Roll Platter is available for $220 & their Classic Roll Plater for $180. Each Platter comes with 14 rolls.

What you’re getting

Make sure you add the Tuna Cebiche to your order. It’s the only ceviche on the menu and it comes with tuna, scallion, sesame, and an aji  amarillo Leche de Tigre with a side of tostones. You’re ordering the Crispy Rice Combo that comes with two pieces of spicy tuna and two of salmon tartare.

You can’t go wrong with the greatest hit section of the menu that includes the Seeing Sound Roll. It comes with spicy tuna tartare, crispy white fish, avocado, sushi rice, nori, topped with torched salmon and aji amarillo mayo.

End the meal with a Crispy Shrimp Handroll wrapped in sesame soy paper.

Chef Yasu Tanaka formerly of The Den, a secret sushi counter inside of Azabu brings his passion for culture and hospitality to MIA Market in Miami’s Design District. Partnering with his lovely wife Michelle, they bring the culture and charisma of Japan right to your feet. In paying homage to his family business the name Masumura was only fitting to carry on the legacy right here in his new home of Miami.

What you’re getting

Make sure you plan ahead for the show-stopping night. In order for you Hungries to feast on Chef’s delicious nigiri and handrolls, you will need to send an email with your pick-up date, time and menu selections beforehand. The 10 piece nigiri Omakase will fulfill the classic vibes, but for a little extra thrown in some additional O-Toro Aburi Nigiri as well as their Uni and Wagyu Handroll. Because when we say these are drool-worthy add ons, we mean it.

Chef Tyson Cole’s non-traditional take on Japanese food has created a wave in the culinary world. With multiple accolades under his belt and a following that seems to keep growing, you certainly don’t want to miss what he’s serving.

What you’re getting

With three different to-go Omakase options you are getting all the fixings for your big Oscar night in. The Hama Chili is the right bite to start your night off with a little zing. That isn’t all you are gonna wanna dive into, the Uchi Salad and Karaage are guaranteed standouts as well! And since every win should be sweet the Chocolate Mole Brownie Ice Cream Sando is a showstopper.

If you are playing hostess with the mostess for the evening then you are going to want to consider getting multiple to-go Omakase boxes. Omakai is delivering three to-go Omakase for your viewing party feast. The Oma Bite, The Oma and the Oma Deluxe will cater to all your sushi dreams featuring a blue crab handroll, chef’s choice nigiri and delicious seasonal sashimi.

With more than 10 years of experience at some of Miami’s top Asian restaurants, Deniz Aktug, Juan Mercado and Khristian Lara are serving fresh and inventive sushi out of a food truck parked in the Design District.

Every Sunday, Yoso Sushi hosts an Omakase dinner from the counter of their food truck with two seating for four guests starting at 6:30 PM. We highly recommend you book your spot by DMing them HERE.

This front row dining experience is guided by all three chefs and may include dishes like Uni Toast with lime juice and sea salt and Tamago and Unagi Nigiri.

They also offer an a la carte menu focused on sushi rolls and poke bowls.

What you’re getting

Take your sushi party to the next level with Yoso Sushi. For $99 per person, dinner will be prepared from the comfort of your home and include appetizers like crudos, crispy tuna rice, maki rolls, nigiri and fried rice.

They also offer sushi platters for large parties starting at 90$+tax for four guests and bento boxes for two at 40$+tax available for pick up only.

Make sure that whatever route you take, includes the Salmon Belly Nigiri with torched belly nigiri, truffle oil yuzu mayo and lime zest as well as the We Love the Sunset Sushi Roll with tuna, salmon, scallions, yuzukosho mayo and avocado.

A cultural marriage between Japanese and Peruvian cuisine, Osaka Nikkei delivers the simplicity and meticulousness of Japanese techniques with Peruvian ingredients. If any of you Hungries are fans of fusion this will be the spot to hit up for your guest come Oscar evening.

What you’re getting

Bento boxes are the way to go if you are trying to enjoy all the best bites from Osaka. And as we all know, you aren’t eating Peruvian food without a little ceviche! The Osk Ceviche is tuna-based with crispy quinoa and light and refreshing rococo yuzu sauce. With four beautiful nigiri selections featuring Inca, Ebi Mentaiko, Hamachi Spicy and Katsu you will certainly feel like you won in every category. And a little insider tip, Osaka’s Acevichado Nikkei sauce is ridiculously addicting so make sure you get extra. They also offer a delicious premium Hangiri Omakase that features Makimonos, nigiris and sashimi.

Wabi Sabi by definition means to not only accept, but to embrace the beauty of imperfections. Since opening in 2018, Wabi Sabi have stuck to the philosophy of delivering delight and elegance through simplicity. Providing seasonal fish and hard to find ingredients they give you a culinary menu featuring omakase platters, rolls, hand rolls and donburi.

What you’re getting

So, you have an array of guest for Oscar evening? Well, Wabi Sabi knows how to handle all customizable options. If you are not in the mood to share (trust me we understand) then the customizable donburi bowls are the way to go. And the Wabi Sabi bowl is certainly a great crowd pleaser for the night. Featuring tuna,
salmon, blue crab and shitake mushroom you are sure not to move from your couch while throwing down. They also offer Hamachi, Yasai, Kani, Maguro and Sake bowls as well. And since you can never go wrong with one big platter for all to try, their omakase platter include 14 pieces of mouthwatering nigiri as well as a one maki.
