With four dollar signs by their name, here’s a spot to dine al fresco and score a deal. Your friends who can’t stop talking about New York will probably shut up at Il Mulino.

For over 40 years, Il Mulino has been serving Abruzzese dishes with exceptional service in New York. Now with their second location, inside the Acqualina Resort and Residences On The Beach, you can have a similar dining experience in Sunny Isles. Start off your meal with a simple Rucola salad or the Caprese salad with burrata. Followed by the Rigatoni Bolognese with braised veal availalbe on the lunch and dinner menu. And at the end of your meal, share the two dessert options— Tiramisu and Cannoli.

ZUCCA

Neighborhood: Coral Gables
Address: 162 Alcazar Ave
Miami Spice availability: Lunch everyday; dinner Sunday to Thursday
Book your table: HERE
View menu: HERE

The spirit of Italy is here so bring your happy hour girls to this modern Spice experience in Coral Gables. Zucca’s indoor green columns contrast with the warmth of the cushioned chairs for that dim-the-lights kind of gossip. Or if you’re here earlier, lunch is offered every day of the week so let’s cheers to mingling with coworkers during our lunch break. We’re ordering the Crudo di Pesce, a fresh raw fish marinated in a lemon vinaigrette to start. The homemade ink squid Cavatelli pasta with monkfish sauce and shrimp is calling to us on the lunch menu, and if we stay for dinner, we’re definitely getting the Agnolotti pasta filled with lamb, artichokes and mint crema.

CASA ISOLA OSTERIA

Neighborhood: South Beach
Address: 1418 20th St
Miami Spice availability: Dinner Tuesday to Friday and Sunday
Book your table: HERE

Make it a family affair and bring your cousins here when they come visit Miami for the weekend. The blue and white upholstery lets you travel a few thousand miles without the plane ride. Dine outdoors and celebrate James Beard Award-nominated Chef Jose Mendin who raises the bar on your expectations. The Polenta with wild mushroom marsala jus is where we’d start, but have your cousin order the Isola Arancinis. Then place bets between the Rigatoni alla Vodka and Eggplant Parm. And if you’ve seen one you haven’t seen them all, so make sure to try the Chocolate Tiramisu made with ladyfingers, nutella cream, espresso cream, and chocolate crumble.

FIOLA

Neighborhood: Coral Gables
Address1500 San Ignacio Ave
Miami Spice availability: Lunch Tuesday to Friday; dinner Sunday to Thursday; Sunday brunch
Book your table: HERE
View menu: HERE

Let’s continue the Italian tradition at another spot that has found its home in Coral Gables. Bring friends that like to order a la carte, in a fine dining atmosphere. We’re here for Spice, but did you know they also offer a vegetarian tasting menu? Maybe you’ll catch them for brunch on Sunday so here’s what you should try. The Peach Gazpacho to start. With lots of options on their entrée list, a few we would try are the Radiatore Cacio e Pepe, Fettuccine Carbonara, or Whole Wheat Rigatoni. There’s a Basque Cheesecake on this menu so we don’t have to tell you twice.

You know that friend that only comes to Miami for Art Basel? Well, take them to this beautiful spot showcasing their internationally acclaimed art collection. Whether lunch or dinner, Tonno hits the spot with raw ahi tuna, basil, bergamot aioli, gooseberry, and pickled celery. And if we see another Rigatoni alla Vodka on the menu… we may still order it, but this one has an extra kick—calabrian chili.

VIA EMILIA 9

Neighborhood: South Beach
Address: 1120 15th St
Miami Spice availability: Dinner Monday to Friday
Book your table: HERE

For those nights when you want to get the chisme going, Via Emilia offers those cozy vibes both inside and out. The greenery hanging overhead makes it feel homey. But, we like to be extra sometimes and here you can choose between the $45 or $60 dinner menu Monday through Friday. The Polpette Pancetta e Piselli starter has more words than we can spell, but we understand beef meatballs and pork belly. A classic Gnocchi al Formaggi dish has us leaning towards this option with four melted cheeses. But PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte, in case you’re not that basic) season is around the corner so we’re feeling a little more like Ceppellacci di Zucca, homemade pasta stuffed with pumpkin and ricotta. For dessert, round it off with Vanilla Gelato and crumble.

Here’s a BYOB we love to bring all of our friends to, but SHHH! Let’s also keep it a secret. You really do escape Miami here and feel the Neapolitan roots. And every day— except Monday— you can feel like family. Here’s a surprise: their dinner menu includes a complimentary glass of wine. Start with Polpette, their classic house made meatballs in San Marzano tomato sauce. Must order pizza here so choose between the classic Margherita with mozzarella fior di latte, san marzano tomato sauce, and basil or the Pepperoni. The Nutella Pizza would be our top choice for dessert.

CASA BUFALA

Neighborhood: South Beach
Address: 1874 Bay Rd
Miami Spice availability: Lunch Friday to Sunday; dinner Tuesday to Sunday
Book your table: HERE
View menu: HERE

Spice month is the time to get adventurous with food, but here’s one that you may find familiar. You may know them as the same owners at Fratelli la Bufala, which is a classical Italian restaurant on the beach. Casa Bufala is participating all weekend long for lunch and dinner. Starters include fried calamari and tuna tartare. The Lobster Gnocchi is grabbing our attention from the entree list. So is the Signature Calzone Cacio e Pepe. Dessert options are dreamy like the Baba (sponge cake with a Boozy syrup) and Pastiera (typical neapolitan cake made with buckwheat and ricotta cheese).
