Jattö brings global flavors to Wynwood

Henry Hane, the chef of B Bistro + Bakery is opening Jattö, a new restaurant in Wynwood.

Jattö, a play on the word “jato” meaning “home” in Peru, will go beyond Peruvian cuisine. Here you will also have the chance to experience global flavors from Thailand, Cuba, Italy, and more.

Although the inspiration comes from abroad, the ingredients will be locally sourced. We took a peek at the menu, and the dishes read fun and inventive.

For something refreshing, we’d start with the avocado. This is an aguachile (think spicy ceviche) with nitro feta, cucumber, onion, quinoa, cilantro, and mint. If you’ve been to B Bistro + Bakery, you might remember they had an “egg in the jar” on the menu. That reminds us of this new dish at Jattö. The Mr. Benedict doesn’t look like eggs benedict but a soft egg custard where hollandaise sauce is involved. It also comes with crispy bacon and smoked paprika dust. Miami’s beloved croqueta that we often pick up at our favorite ventanita, has also made it on the menu. The fufu croquetas incoprorate plantain skin relish and lime.

To keep with the Latin theme, there’s an ikura arepa on the menu. It comes with whipped cream cheese, capers, pickled shallots, and dill. And just in time for the season, a stone crab causa will also be available. A favorite comfort dish from Peru using local George Stone Crabs. Topped with acevichado sauce, avocado, egg yolk fudge, and Peruvian choclo.

For the larger plates, expect a citrus rabo encendido risotto with crispy plantain and an orange zest salad. As well as a steak au poivre with a potato purree foam and “papitas”.

As far as dessert goes, leave room. In partnership with Frice Ice Cream, an affogato colada will be served. Made with condensada espuma and colada syrup.

Jattö will offer indoor and patio dining.

The outdoor bar will be where you want to hang.

Cocktails will include a spin on the classics like a Pisco Sour. Infused with passionfruit, chipotle, and hibiscus. Continuing with local partnerships a Cartel Negroni made with Coconut Cartel Rum will also be on the menu. Made with koji cured banana infused sweet vermouth and coconut washed Campari.

Jattö is located at 223 NW 23rd St, Miami, FL 33127. They’re kicking off with dinner from 6 PM until 11:30 PM Monday through Friday and late-night drinks at the bar on weekends. Brunch will probably start in November. For more info click HERE
