Where to eat and drink in Miami

Soccer is taking over Miami, and whether you’re visiting or hosting friends and family, we want to make sure you’re well fed!

With so much happening in the city, deciding where to eat and drink can feel slightly overwhelming. Luckily for you, we’ve come up with a list of spots that won’t feel like tourist traps.

We’ve got you covered, depending on your mood and the dining experience you’re looking for. From Coconut Grove and Key Biscayne to Miami Beach and Wynwood, here are our favorite spots in every neighborhood so you, your amigos, family, suegros, and even kiddos can eat, drink, and feel like a Miami local.

It’s an easy guide for fast browsing and quick decision-making.

IF YOU’RE IN WYNWOOD AND DESIGN DISTRICT:

Doya (Mediterranean, Aegean): Big groups, date night, eating alone, drinks and bites, eating at the bar, healthy eating, outdoor seating, has a vibey “ambiente”, happy hour, dinner with friends, vegetarians
Favorite dishes: Cretan Feta, Manti, Pistachio Baklava
Bonus: One of our favorite restaurant bars in Wynwood. 

PARI PARI (Japanese, sushi, hand rolls): date night, eating alone, eating at the bar, casual meal, walk-in
Favorite dishes: Hamachi Chimichurri Handroll, Toro Taku Handroll
Bonus: We love any of their handroll sets. 

Cowy Burger (American, burgers): quick bite, budget-friendly, late-night munchies, take-out approved
Favorite dishes: Cowy Burger
Bonus: One of our favorite burgers in Miami. 

PASTA (Italian): date night, eating at the bar, dinner with friends, big groups, kid-friendly
Favorite dishes: Octopus with squid ink aioli, Agnolotti di Funghi, Pici Cacio e Pepe, Beef Milanesa
Bonus: Go with a group so you can get more than one pasta and def get dessert. 

Shiso (Asian, BBQ): big groups, date night, eating alone, drinks and bites, outdoor seating, has a vibey “ambiente”, live music
Favorite dishes: Smoked Short Rib, Oxtail Udon Noodles
Bonus: We love their BBQ sauce. 

ATOMICA (Modern Peruvian): eating alone, casual meal, walk-in, big groups
Favorite dishes: Atomicausa, Fried Shrimp,  Tuna & Palta, Cebiche Blanco, El Tigre
Bonus: Located inside the MIA Market food hall, and some of the best Peruvian food in town. 

Sushi Yasu Tanaka (Japanese, sushi, hand rolls): eating alone, casual meal, walk-in, big groups
Favorite dishes: Omakase (10-Piece Chef’s Selection & One Hand Roll), O-Toro Aburi Nigiri, Uni and Wagyu Hand Roll
Bonus: Located inside the MIA Market food hall, with some of the best sushi. Chef Yasu Tanaka also created the Pari Pari menu.

IF YOU’RE IN COCONUT GROVE:

Chug’s Diner (Cuban, American): big groups, breakfast/brunch, eating alone, eating at the bar, outdoor seating, kid-friendly, cafecito run, casual meal, walk-in
Favorite dishes: Short Rib Boliche, Cast Iron Pancake, Diner Burger
Bonus: great for people watching in Coconut Grove. 

Drinking Pig BBQ (American, Caribbean, BBQ): quick bite, budget-friendly, kid-friendly, take-out approved, casual meal
Favorite dishes: Brisket, Pulled Pork, Mac & Cheese, Cornbread, Spare Ribs
Bonus: Chef Raheem Sealey is behind Drinking Pig and Shiso (also on this list). 

El Bagel (American, bakery): quick bite, budget-friendly, breakfast, kid-friendly, take-out approved
Favorite dishes: Salt Bagel with Scallion Cream Cheese, Lox Supreme, Classic Pastrami
Bonus: We love their summer specials, Matcha Tonic, and Cold Brew Tonic. No sit-down area, but you can grab your food and sit in the Coco Walk tables next to Mister-01.

Los Félix (Latin, Mexican-ish): date night, outdoor seating, weekend brunch, vegetarians
Favorite dishes: Day’s Catch Crudo, Pork Cheek Carnitas, Sweet Corn Arepa, Masa Pancake, Chilaquiles
Bonus: The menu is inspired by corn. They use a Molino to cook and grind maíz daily and make tortillas from scratch.

Mae’s Room (Cocktail bar): date night, pre- or post-dinner drinks with a small group of friends
Favorite dishes: Direct Martini, Corpse Reviver #2
Bonus: Not a lot of true cocktail bars in Miami. Mae’s is one of the few, and we love it here.

Chug’s Diner | Cast Iron Pancake

IF YOU’RE IN CORAL GABLES AND SOUTH MIAMI:

Daniel’s (American, steakhouse): big groups, weekend brunch, eating at the bar, date night, dinner with friends
Favorite dishes: Chips & Dip, Australian Wagyu NY Strip, Corn Pudding, Twice-Baked Potato, Corn Pudding, Basil Caesar
Bonus: The burger on their bar menu is delicious, and we wouldn’t skip dessert. We love their hazelnut chocolate cake. 

SHINGO (Japanese, omakase, sushi): date night, elevated dining experience
Favorite dishes: Chef’s Choice Omakase
Bonus: You’ll feel like you’re in Japan. 

Tina in the Gables (Latin Diner): breakfast/brunch, kid-friendly, casual meal
Favorite dishes: Sunny Side Duck, Tuna Melt, Tina’s French Toast
Bonus: The cutest little breakfast spot, get here early or plan to wait.

Portosole (Italian): big groups, date night, dinner with suegros
Favorite dishes: Melanzane alla Parmigiana, Ravioli di Ossobuco allo Zafferano, Tonnarelli al Cacio e Pepe, Sgroppino Veneziano
Bonus: It’s giving a classy summer in Italy with AC.

Frankie & Wally’s (American, deli): take-out approved, quick bite
Favorite dishes: The BEC, The Wally
Bonus: Quality deli sandwiches in the loveliest local market setting. 

Buccan (New American): date night, dinner with friends, has a vibey “ambiente”
Favorite dishes: Steak Tartar, Braised Rabbit Tagliatelle
Bonus: Newly opened spot from Palm Beach that is worth trying. During lunch, they have a sandwich takeout operation that we highly recommend. Try the Beef Carpaccio Sandwich.

Tinta y Cafe (Cuban): breakfast/brunch, kid-friendly, budget-friendly, eating alone, take-out approved, quick bite, cafecito run
Favorite dishes: Guajiro, Honey Mustard Chicken Salad, Croqueta de Jamón.
Bonus: The best Iced Café con Leche, and it’s not crazy expensive. We also love their half-size tostadas.

Recoveco (Contemporary): dinner with a friend, date night, drinking wine
Favorite dishes: anything and everything, you can’t go wrong here.
Bonus: The menu is 9-10 dishes. It’s creative, delicious, and changes often. They have exquisite wines and desserts.

Daniel’s | Chips & Dip

IF YOU’RE IN MIAMI BEACH:

Vecinos (Spanish, Mediterranean): big groups, date night, drinks and bites, outdoor seating, drinking wine
Favorite dishes: Pan con Tomate, Vecinos Burger
Bonus: It’s a hidden gem, with great cocktails located in an Art Deco Miami Beach hotel lobby.

Lucali (Italian): date night, outdoor seating, take-out approved, casual meal
Favorite dishes: Chicken Wings, Kale Caesar, Calzone, Pizza Toppings—beef pepperoni, imported Italian artichoke hearts, hot peppers
Bonus: Walk-ins available. 

Las’ Lap (Caribbean): date night, outdoor seating, drinks and bites, dinner with friends
Favorite dishes: Sticky Wings, Oxtail Cuban, Rasta Pasta Bucatini, Charred Dorade
Bonus: One of our new favorites from 2025. Flavors are awesome and feel unpredictable. 

Macchialina (Italian American): date night, outdoor seating, dinner with friends, kid-friendly, drinking wine, casual meal
Favorite dishes: Cavatelli Macchialina, Spaghetti Pomodoro, Tiramisù
Bonus: Amazing cocktails and wine to go with a delicious meal at one of our favorite local restaurants in Miami Beach.

Joe’s Stone Crab (American, seafood): dinner with friends, kid-friendly, big groups, take-out approved, classic
Favorite dishes: Select-Size Stone Crabs, Joe’s fried 1/2 chicken, Stone Crab Bisque, Key Lime Pie
Bonus: A classic that has been around since 1913. Stone Crabs season returns in October, but Joe’s is always a good time.

Las’ Lap

IF YOU’RE IN DOWNTOWN, BRICKELL, OR NEARBY: 

Miami Slice (American, pizza): eating at the bar, budget-friendly, date night, eating alone, outdoor seating, casual meal, walk-in
Favorite dishes: La Salsera, Leeks on Bacon, Pepperoni Proper, Margherita de la Casa
Bonus: The hype is real, and you need a slice from this spot. The best seat is right in front of the pizza bar.

ViceVersa (Italian, aperitivo bar): date night, eating alone, drinks and bites, eating at the bar, happy hour
Favorite dishes: Sbagliato, Citrus Crudo, Clam Pizza, Margherita Pizza
Bonus: A very fun Italian cocktail menu with amazing pizza and crudos.

Tâm Tâm (Vietnamese): eating at the bar, date night, eating alone, dinner with friends, drinks and bites, has a vibey “ambiente”
Favorite dishes: Shimeji Mushroom, Tamarind Glazed Pork Ribs
Bonus: Fun dinner spot with incredible food. Reservations are highly encouraged.

LPM Restaurant & Bar (French, Mediterranean): date night, eating at the bar, drinks and bites, has a vibey “ambiente”, dinner with friends
Favorite dishes: Tomatini, Warm Prawns, Escargots, Marinated Baby Chicken, Vanilla Cheesecake with Berry Compote
Bonus: LPM just got a facelift, so go check it out.

Palma (Contemporary): date night, drinking wine
Favorite dishes: anything and everything, you can’t go wrong here. The menu changes often
Bonus: We love the team, the wines, and sitting at the bar. One of the most exciting restaurants in Miami.

Miami Slice | Pepperoni Proper ‘with all the kicks’

IF YOU’RE IN LITTLE RIVER, OR NEARBY:

Favorite dishes: Circus Permit, Hiramasa Crudo, Agnolotti, Wagyu Carpaccio, Octopus Ceviche, Grilled Pork Sausage, Prime Hanger, Limited Edition Sunny’s Burger (only available on the terrace menu)
Bonus: It’s a hard reservation to snag, but walk-ins are accepted in their terrace menu for a delish limited menu. 

Bar Bucce (Italian, wine bar): big groups, date night, day drinking, eating alone, outdoor seating, kid-friendly, dinner with friends, pet-friendly, walk-in, casual meal
Favorite dishes: Porchetta di Casa,  Shrimp Pie, Zucchini Pie, Caesar Salad
Bonus: Indoor seating available, and if you sit at the bar, you don’t need to order at the counter. 

Walrus Rodeo (Italian, pizza): eating at the bar, date night, dinner with friends
Favorite dishes: Rodeo Za, Kale Salad, Mustard Green Lasagna
Bonus: Happy Hour available  5:30 – 7 pm Sun-Thur.
