The Hungry Post has found the best arepas in NY thanks to:

Our official ‘arepa duties’ in NY began in September. We embarked on a month-long quest to find the best arepas in NY. Our journey took us to both well-known establishments and hidden gems, some of which were suggested by you.
We tried over 30 arepas from 10 different restaurants throughout the tour. To help us in our decision-making process, we assembled a panel of judges.
From The Hungry Post team, we enlisted content creators Andrea Becerra, Gaby Valdano, Roberta Ycaza, Emiliana Hellebrand, and Adriana Rosales. For some local NYC talent, we invited Natalia Hauser (aka as NatisStyle), and Eduardo Holguin. And finally, for the highest Harina P.A.N. expertise, we had Andreina Gallardo.
Here are some things you should know about our top 3 arepas in NY.
Our arepa tour lasted a little over a month. The mission was to try as many Venezuelan-style arepas made with Harina P.A.N.
At each restaurant, we tried three arepas, options included: Carne Mechada (shredded beef), Pollo Mechado (shredded chicken), Queso (cheese), Reina Pepiada (which literally translates to ‘polka-dotted queen’, named after a Venezuelan beauty queen). In case you didn’t know, this popular arepa has avocado, shredded chicken, and mayo.
When picking our favorite arepa, we considered what made an arepa great: filling (combination of flavors), texture (the crunchiness of an arepa), size/shape, thickness, and creative factor. The decision of our top 3 was completely up to us. Nobody influenced our decision.
Oh and when talking about arepas, se habla en Spanglish.
