We have many reasons why we would avoid the general Midtown area but here’s a reason why we aren’t avoiding it and it includes spritz and salumi platters.
Lodi is the newest restaurant by the creators of Estela and Altro Paradiso located at 1 Rockefeller Plaza in the heart of Midtown. Adding to their Italian repertoire, Lodi is all about aperitivo hour. It’s elegant and we’d probably leave here wanting to book a trip to Rome.
We’d come here for breakfast (perhaps with a client we are looking to impress) and their beautiful-looking baked goods as well as for a spritz after work.
Their bread and pastry program seems to be handled with all the deserving respect and care. They use single varieties of wheat, rye, and other grains. And conserve flavors and nutrition by milling their grains in-house.
For breakfast, we’d stop by for their meticulously laminated dark chocolate croissant. And when passing by after work, we’re all over that vitello tonnato and a plate of 5 salumi that includes prosciutto di parma, capocolla, salami nostranno, coppa di testa and mortadella.
