What to expect: Have you been looking for a new spot to impress your date or a friend, somewhere to get a delicious drink and maybe a few bites too? The Sylvester is a nod to the more creative side of Miami’s bar scene. The decor is retro Miami themed with lots of dark, cozy corners perfect for a great conversation. The owners, alums of Beaker & Gray and Blackbird Ordinary, know a thing or two about craft cocktails. If you are hungry, there are plenty of food options to choose from.

The Menu: The cocktails range from lighter drinks (Mule, Gimlet) to classics (Negroni), plus a few on the sweeter side (Colada, Irish Coffee). The food menu is organized into Snacks, Cold, Hot, and Sweet, a combination of American and Miami-inspired plates ranging from Cuban Media Noche with Palm Sugar Ham, House Mustard, Kirby Cucumber to a Proper Sausage Board.

What to order: From the Snacks section, we loved the Typicals, an assortment of peanuts, olives, cheese, ham, and other bite-sized delights. Our favorite Cold dish was the Smoked White Fish, a yummy garlic cream cheese dip served with crispy salt and vinegar wontons. If you’re considering something from the Hot section, we recommend the Arepa Grilled Cheese, oozing with gooey swiss cheese and yellow corn, with tangy tomato cream.
