Feed The Chain Campaign Updates

Our social initiative to keep South Florida’s food system alive

June 4, 2020

The re-opening of restaurants at 50% capacity won’t be enough for survival.

As restaurants in Miami prepare to re-open, they will face new challenges. The losses restaurants have endured since March have been catastrophic. Operating at 50% capacity is still unrealistic for many. The American supply chain will continue to tear as restaurants, farmers, distributors, and purveyors find a way back or a new path of operating.

Through the #FeedTheChain campaign we have raised $9,000 and have distributed 900 meals to healthcare workers; women and children suffering from homelessness. The Hungry Post will keep buying $10 meals from restaurants to help them stay operational, keep their staff on payroll and simultaneously feed those affected during these difficult times.

We feel strongly that if we help restaurants stay open today, they will have a future once a treatment or vaccine has been discovered. Our mission is to keep the supply chain alive so that distributors, wholesalers, and farmers can maintain their jobs. This is an industry that provides work for more than 15.6 million Americans and we can’t standstill.

We still need your help in spreading the word and reaching our goal of $100,000. Click HERE to donate.
