Cooking at home with La Latina featuring Harina P.A.N Whole Grain

Spending a lot more time in the kitchen? Try this recipe with Harina P.A.N’s Whole Grain Corn Meal.

Is it just us or are you also forming unexpected and close relationships with your oven and stove? While staying home more and more these days, our kitchen has become our favorite space to exploit our creativity and improve our cooking skills.

We’ve teamed up with Harina P.A.N to introduce Whole Grain Corn Meal, a wholesome source of fiber, low in sodium and cholesterol.

We have enlisted the help of some of the most talented cooking personalities to bring you eight episodes of House of Knives, our original series that lives on The Hungry Post IG TV channel and offers you all the steps to re-creating delicious recipes en casa.

In this episode of House of Knives, Alejandro Diaz and Jose Maria Cardenas owners of La Latina, a traditional Venezuelan restaurant in Midtown Miami, will be making their Arepa Toast using Harina P.A.N’s Whole Grain corn.

Check off the ingredients, follow the recipe and watch the excitement on our IGTV channel as Alejandro Diaz and Jose Maria Cardenas, prepare and plates their Arepa Toast.

MASA INGREDIENTS


  • Two cups of their Harina P.A.N’s Whole Grain corn
  • Two and a half cups of water
  • One tablespoon of salt
  • One tablespoon of flaxseed, one of hemp seeds, one of chia seeds

 

DIRECTIONS


  • Mix all dry ingredients
  • Add water and mix
  • Make a ball (fist-size) with dough 
  • Place on the grill 

If you have leftovers of the masa,  make a large ball, wrap it in paper and leave in the fridge for the next day.

TOPPINGS


  • Smash half an avocado with salt and pepper
  • Put avocado on top of  toast
  • Fry an egg
  • Put an egg on top of the avocado
  • Add some salt, pepper, and peperoncino to your liking for taste
