Local food halls offering artisanal foods accompanied by a bar with handcrafted cocktails.
The Citadel is the latest food hall to open in the up-and-coming neighborhood of Little River. Local food vendors include: Meat ‘N Cheese (Charcuterie), Bianca Gelato (Ice Cream), Bachour (pastries and gourmet chocolate), Ash! (Pizza), Manjay (Caribbean), Rare Burger (burgers and sandwiches), Palmar (Chinese), Taquiza (Mexican), 33 Kitchen (Peruvian), Il Nuts (Indian spices nuts and snacks), Society BBQ (BBQ), Palma Juice Co. (fresh juices, soups and salads), Vice City Bean (Coffee bar).
What to expect:
Shopping and entertainment, but right now eating is their main attraction. The space is about 62,000-square-foot (if that means anything to you) with a downstairs food hall and its own bar. Across the hall from the dining area is Finery, the Citadel’s maker-driven retail space, and soon-to-be rooftop bar. The Citadel food hall is now open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
What to order:
Ash!: Truffle Shuffle- Cream, fresh mozzarella, black and white truffle puree, part, white truffle oil
Meat ‘N Cheese: Charcuterie Cones- 2 Salumi, Cheese, Olives, Pickles, Grissini
Rare Burger: Classic Double Burger- All beef patty, American cheese, house pickles, lettuce,
Taquiza: Tacos— Carnitas- slow-cooked pork with hints of cinnamon, clove & orange;
Barbacoa- braised brisket with cumin, chiles & Modela Negra; Camaron- grilled, spice-rubbed
shrimp on red cabbage slaw, Totopos- hand-torn blue masa chips & salsa.
Bachour: Macaroons (matcha, fudge, coconut, cookies and cream), Chocolate Raspberry Cake
