A new Spanish restaurant that’s definitely on our list

Updated May 11, 2021
Restaurant: Marea 1939 at National Hotel Miami Beach
Neighborhood: Miami Beach
Address: 1677 Collins Avenue

The National Hotel Miami Beach has opened a new Spanish restaurant called Marea 1939 by Executive Chef Sergio Chamizo and we couldn’t be more excited. Chef Sergio was the creator and chef of Alma, one of our favorite Spanish restaurants in Miami that closed during the pandemic.

He is now leading the kitchen at Marea 1939’s indoor and outdoor dining concept. Marea 1939 will be open daily for dinner.

The menu will feature signature dishes like Honey-Spiced Duck Breast, Black Paella with Seared Scallops and Shrimp as well as Patatas Bravas, Cantabrian Anchovies & Boquerones and Spanish Octopus.

ZZ’s is sourcing seafood from Tokyo and has the largest offering of Wagyu beef in the United States. They are also licensed to carry true Kobe beef, which will be presented in a variety of styles, from steaks cooked over custom-built charcoal grills to a Wagyu Katsu Sando with truffles.

Menu items to look out for include Caviar Temaki, toast topped with trout roe and honey to the carpaccio of tuna, foie, uni, and scallop—as well as dishes developed specifically for Miami: Handmade Lobster Dumplings and Teppan-Fried Rice.
