KOJIN AT KURA

Chef Pedro Mederos behind dim sum pop-up E&P Dmplngs (now closed) has taken over Kura, a secret sake bar inside of Hachidori Ramen in Little River with his washoku concept Kojin.

Washoku means “food from Japan” in Japanese which represents what Chef Pedro is creating at this 10 seat counter bar. Most of the ingredients and techniques used at Kojin are Japanese. However, there are some surprises here and there.

You’re in for a culinary adventure and no there’s no sushi on the menu. Kojin offers The Chef’s Selection menu with 6 courses for $75. A sake pairing is also available for $45.

Dios mio, you’ve never had a Caesar Salad like this. Chef Pedro adds shredded nori, Sassanian roe (smoked trout roe caviar) and dried bonito flakes to his non-traditional take to this classic salad and it will blow you away. Another favorite is the Tomago Don Buri which is a rice bowl dish with black garlic dashi and furikake.

This is a special place. We don’t get experiences like this in Miami. So take note. Come with an open mind. Get ready to broaden your horizons and learn about Japanese cuisine. Oh and soon they will be launching a new menu so stay tuned!

Reservations are required. Click HERE to book! Kojin is open Tuesday – Thursday, from 5 PM – 10 PM and from Friday – Saturday, 5 PM – 12 AM.
