Summer Solstice Happy Hour

Thanks to Diplomatico, we're celebrating the start of summer at these Miami gems

These happy hour spots have been hand-selected by The Hungry Post and are presented by Diplomatico.

The longest day of the year is creeping upon us and we want to start the celebration early to mark the beginning of summer. Presented by Diplomatico, every Friday in June we will be hosting a Diplomatico Happy Hour with one-of-a-kind cocktails created just for you. In collaboration with KYU, Lost Boy, The Sylvester and Vista you can visit these local spots with your summer squad and vibe out con un tremendo cocktail.

We want to give you a chance to explore Miami on this little happy hour adventure, so it is only right we start you off in our very own art district. If you have never been to this OG spot don’t stress, we got you on this happy hour special. This Smoked Watermelon Daiquiri at KYU hits every note you are looking for. The Diplomatico Old Fashioned & Hand Shaken Pina Colada are available every Friday during Happy Hour in June.

Giving you two classics, Lost Boy in Downtown makes sure to take something old and turn it into something new. The Diplomatico Old Fashioned here has you wondering if maybe all Old Fashions should be done with Rum. With notes of dried ginger, orange zest and vanilla oak you will find yourself ordering another one before you can even finish the first. And for those that are feeling a little bit tropical, the Hand Shaken Pina Colada is a must-have. Creamy, light and giving you those feet in the sand vibes. Who wouldn’t want to down one of these?

Fruta Fresca is otherwise known as Fresh Fruit and literally is just that. Is it named after that popular Carlos Vives song?! Potentially. Either way, we’re singing it in our heads. It has fresh pineapple, a little hint of dried plums and subtle spices from the Diplomatico Mantuano. You’ll be drinking one after the other and end up wondering how you lost count.

The Caballo Viejo & El Turpial are available every Friday during Happy Hour in June.

Named after the national bird of Venezuela, El Turpial cocktail will fly you to the ocean side. The colors of this cocktail represent the beautiful colors on the Turpial bird. With drops of black magic bitters (a secret recipe created by bartender Santi Vasquez of Vista) and a combination of tropical fruits, you and your crew will order rounds of this drink. The next cocktail on this list is known as the “old horse” or Caballo Viejo in Spanish, honoring the late Venezuelan singer Simon Diaz. It brings together two classics into one. An old-fashioned as Diaz used to drink, but with a Miami twist of un poquito de cafecito.
