1. BYBLOS

Cuisine: Mediterranean
Neighborhood: Miami Beach
Address: 1545 Collins Ave

Located at the Royal Palm Hotel on South Beach, Byblos has been a longtime date night destination and Miami Spice favorite. The interior is sensual and Mediterranean, with blue and gold accents. The outdoor patio is fantastic for dining al fresco and people watching on Collins Avenue. Byblos also delivers on the food front, with Eastern Mediterranean cuisine that can’t be found elsewhere in Miami (except at their brand new sister restaurant, Meet Dalia, which just opened last week).

The Miami Spice menu at Byblos has been a crowd pleaser for years, and for good reason. The portions are generous, everyone gets to try multiple appetizers, sides are included, and there are specially priced cocktails and an optional wine pairing. Each guest can select two appetizers, so everyone can try several dishes. We recommend the Turkish Kale Salad, the Hummus, and the Lamb Ribs. There are four choices of entrees and sides (another opportunity to share). We loved the Baharat Crusted Skirt Steak with smoked eggplant puree. Side options include two kinds of rice, brussel sprouts, and cauliflower. Save room for dessert, so you can try the Strawberry Cheesecake Qatayef or the Stuffed Baklava.

All of their restaurants are participating in Miami Spice, but we’re here for Los Fuegos, which is date-worthy for its open-fire “asado” style kitchen, lux decor, and South America’s most renowned chef, Francis Mallmann. On your way in, get a pic at the Golden Mammoth by Damian Hirst.

Appetizer options include Charred Crispy PolentaWood Fired Chicken Livers TartineWild Salmon Tartare, and Octopus a la Plancha. The entrees are very date-night appropriate, with a fish, pasta, and meat option, plus a Paradilla Experience (for two), which features a variety of meat, fish, and sides to share.
