The Hungry Post Launches #FeedTheChain

A social initiative to keep South Florida’s food system alive

The closing of ONE restaurant means hundreds of people are left unemployed and the American supply chain starts tearing apart.

The COVID-19 pandemic has already affected more than 15.6 million Americans in the restaurant industry. This not only includes restaurant staff but all of their suppliers, delivery drivers, distributors, wholesalers, purveyors, farmers and more.

Through #FeedTheChainThe Hungry Post will pay restaurants to feed those that need a meal right now. Every dollar raised through this social initiative will be used to help keep restaurants operational and simultaneously feed healthcare providers, those that have been laid off, kids in need and others during these troubling times.

The Hungry Post’s first goal is to raise $100,000, which will go directly to restaurant partners, to provide 10,000 meals for those in need. For every $10 raised, one meal will be prepared, one restaurant employee will be tipped and one meal will be delivered to #FeedTheChain.

The Hungry Post will kick off #FeedTheChain with Oasis Cafe in Key Biscayne , La Latina in Midtown and Fratelli Milano in Downtown by donating meals to Lotus House , Camillus House and more with the help of our friends from Recipe for Change, acting as a bridge between restaurants and those that need food. The fundraiser will be continuous, adding organizations and restaurants to #FeedTheChain.

If you are an organization that needs food or a restaurant that can produce full meals for less than $10, please contact us HERE!
