Your Memorial Day Weekend Schedule

No time to plan your long weekend and staying local? Here’s a thought…let us do the groundwork.

Lots of folks have decided to leave Miami this weekend, and lucky for you that means less wait time to check out some of the newer and popular restaurants that often tend to be busier. We’ve put together an itinerary for you that includes brunch, dinner, and drinks.



Restaurant: Boulud Sud
Neighborhood: Brickell
What you need to know: Beginning the Friday of Memorial Day weekend (May 24), Boulud Sud will release a hand-selected flight of wines complimentary with the purchase of an appetizer. Each week the theme will change — artisanal fine wines of Sicily, Italy; Augustan WineImports of Catalonia, Spain and Conca Del Riu Anoia; Terroir Selections of Southern France; and Angel’s Share Wines of Macedonia and Peleponnese, Greece, just to name a few. Along with the release of the summer wine flights, Boulud Sud will extend their Friday happy hour from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. During this time, draught and bottles beers are offered for $5, frozen cocktails for $6, wine by the glass for $8, and regular cocktails for $9. The variety of discounted cocktails can be paired with a selection of $5 bites.

Restaurant: Lung Yai Thai Tapas
Neighborhood: Calle ocho
Cuisine: Thai
What you need to know: There’s usually a long wait to get a table at this Thai spots. We think this weekend, your luck will change so stop by. Order the Pad see ew beef, chicken kao so gai, chicken pad thai, spring rolls, ribs, papaya salad (ask for the spicy version).

Restaurant: Amara at Paraiso
Neighborhood: Edgewater
Cuisine: Latin American
What you need to know: We know you love a view so make sure you get a table in their outdoor terrace. Start off with the yucca cheese puffs and the short rib empanadas. Since you’re not barbecuing at home we’re eyeing the parillada section of the menu. Oh and there’s always chilaquiles if you want something more yolk-y.

Restaurant: Le Chick
Neighborhood: Wynwood
Cuisine: American
What you need to know: This casual American eatery is serving up delicious flavors for your weekend feast ahead. We recommend you order the street corn, double dirty burger with dry-aged brisket, and the BBQ baby back ribs.

BarThe Sylvester Bar
Neighborhood: Wynwood
What you need to know: The Sylvester is a vintage eclectic cocktail and coffee bar where Miami nostalgia meets cutting-edge cocktails in a fun and familiar atmosphere. The Sylvester will initially be open Tuesday – Saturday, starting at 4PM with a casual and laid-back atmosphere for coffee, bites and drinks in the afternoon then transforming into a congenial cocktail bar with an elevated menu set to the tone of hand-selected, classic to contemporary sounds.

Restaurant: La Mar by Gaston Acurio
What you need to know: Treat yourself to this Peruvian style buffet brunch priced at $95 per person. The menu includes seafood and grilled item stations, chaufa aeropuerto to share, and your choice of main + assorted desserts. We’d get  the lomo saltado with a fried egg as a main, if we were you.  Oh and there are unlimited brunch cocktails, select wine and beer and Taittinger champagne.

Cuisine: Asian
What you need to know: This spot has become a Wynwood staple and honestly we don’t know what we’d do without it. Order the Korean fried chicken, roasted cauliflower, soft shell crab steamed buns, brisket and grilled octopus.

Bar: Bevy Bar
Neighborhood: Design District
What you need to know:If you’re feeling fresh, order the FRESH at Bevy Bar. Sip on this grey goose vodka cocktail with cucumber, lychee and grape. There’s something about this spot that makes us feel like we are in Morocco and we’re all about it.
