Keep this guide handy when looking for where brunch in workout clothes.

Picture this: It’s Saturday morning and you just got out of a workout class. You’re sweaty, your hair is in a bun, you look like a hot mess, and you’re hungry. You can’t be bothered to go home, shower and then get ready for brunch. You just want to air-dry like a cute pup and feast.

Preferably a restaurant where you won’t be judged for how you look, somewhere you can just roll in your finest athleisure fit, and where the food is good.

After some cardio, weight training, or pilates you want a hearty meal with lots of carbs. Here is where you should brunch in workout clothes!

LA LATINA

Neighborhood: Midtown
Address: 3509 NE 2nd Ave
Cuisine: Venezuelan

La Latina, located in Midtown, is our favorite stop for all things arepa and tequeños. And after a workout, that may be exactly what you’re craving. We recommend the Pelua with shredded beef and cheese or the Rumbera with pork and cheese. Make sure you get an order of tequeños or patacones topped with cheese. And don’t skip both salsitas. They have garlic and cilantro aioli that pairs well with everything.

CARACAS BAKERY

Neighborhood: MiMo
Address: 7283 Biscayne Blvd
Cuisine: Venezuelan, bakery, cafe

The new Caracas Bakery located in MiMo is a great spot for a casual brunch after the gym. We love the industrial feel of the bakery balanced out with softer wood finishes that remind us of Japanese bakeries.

You’re stopping by for their artisan bread and a cafe menu that draws inspiration from Venezuelan and French baked goods. They offer different croissant (sweet and savory), pastries, breakfast toasts, eggs, cachitos (a must), and more.

They have limited indoor seating for those that want to dine in. Try their new croissant flavors, like the salmon and cream cheese or the turkey and cheese. If you’re looking for a hearty sandwich, try the BEC with soft scrambled eggs, thick-cut bacon, and cheddar cheese served in their sweet potato bun or the BLT.

This is a great spot to grab brunch on the weekend. However, if you want to get those cachitos, make sure to arrive on the earlier side because they do run out.

EL BAGEL

Neighborhood: MiMo
Address: 6910 Biscayne Blvd
Cuisine: Bakery, cafe

Your body is screaming, “carbs”. You’re drenched in sweat and you’re hungry. You basically planned your workout on a Saturday morning so you can stop by El Bagel after.

The earlier your workout, the better, for El Bagel. They open at 8 AM and close at 2 PM, however, they often sell out of bagels! You can pre-order for pick-up to avoid waiting in line.

You’re either taking the bagels home or if the weather permits, eating them on the outdoor deck (they have seating in the front and also in the back).

If you want to keep it simple, go for their salt bagel with scallion cream cheese (vegan option available). Other amazing sandwich orders include the Lox Supreme with locally-smoked lox, English cucumber, dill, pickled onion, tomato, capers, and cream cheese; and the open-face Midday Snack with chives, red onion, and Lox cream cheese. Make sure to add smoked trout roe as an upgrade. Sometimes they have bagel specials, like the Garlique, which sounds divine.

CHUG’S

Neighborhood: Coconut Grove
Address: 3444 Main Hwy Suite 21
Cuisine: Cuban, American

This is a diner for Miami. And yes, it includes a ventanita. If you’re going with one other person, the best seat in the house is at the bar. If it’s a group we’d sit inside at one of their booths or outside for people-watching. You can pretty much stop by Chug’s at any time of the day for an all-day breakfast experience. Brunch is available on Saturday and Sunday.

This is the meal you deserve after a long or tough workout and you don’t mind bumping into familiar faces.

Order the best Cast Iron Pancake (these may take up to 25 mins to come out of the kitchen), slow-cooked in clarified butter and warm maple syrup with an order of Beltran’s Bacon, thick steak cut bacon with smoked maple syrup. Get yourself a non-traditional Pan con Lechon with mojo and tomato sauce, or a Diner Burger with caramelized onion, mustard aioli, and American cheese.

LOVE LIFE CAFE

Neighborhood: Wynwood
Address545 NW 26th St
CuisineVegetarian, vegan

This is a great spot for vegans, vegetarians, or those that just love to eat well and feel good after working out. Regardless of your dietary restrictions, Love Life Cafe is delicious. We recommend the best veggie burger in America with guacamole, pickles, and a kale cilantro aioli; the LL tacos, and the pizza Margherita. This is a great and spacious spot. You don’t have to worry about reservations here.

They also offer natural wines, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages depending on your mood!

TINTA Y CAFE

Neighborhood: Coral Gables
Address: 1315 Ponce de Leon
Cuisine: Cuban

Tinta y Cafe is a modern coffee house and ventanita with a location in Coral Gables and Miami Shores. If you care about Michelin accolades, this is the second consecutive year that they have received a Bib Gourmand!

If you’re in a hurry grab your coffee, croquetica, and sandwich through the ventanita. If you have time to sit and chill after a workout, we recommend you grab a table inside.

We love their sandwich selection, our favorite is the Guajiro. You can have it with pork or chicken and it comes with Swiss cheese, sauteed onions, and drenched in a delicious mojo de la casa. The iced coffee also pairs well with their croquetas that melt in your mouth. We tried the bacalo, spinach, and ham croquetas. Holy sh*t! We’re obsessed with these croquetas. Our favorite was the ham but damn the spinach was really good too and tastes like creamed spinach with an outer crispy layer.

MOTEK

Neighborhood: Coral Gables
Address: 45 Miracle Mile
Cuisine: Mediterranean

Motek is a family-owned, kosher-style Israeli Mediterranean restaurant offering all-day brunch, dinner, and baked goods.

You might think the recently opened Coral Gables location is fancier than most of the places on this list. But honestly, they’ve created a vibe that works for brunching in cute workout clothes or summer dresses. They also have locations in Downtown and Aventura.

Must-try dishes Include award-winning Arayes BurgerTurkish Lamb Kebabs, grilled to perfection and infused with fragrant spices. For a vibrant vegan option, savor the Babaganoush, complemented by a grilled eggplant dip, pomegranate, and za’atar.

The latest Motek location in Coral Gables offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with a full bar for those that want drinks at brunch. We recommend making a reservation for this one, especially on a Saturday morning.

BACHOUR

Neighborhood: Coral Gables
Address: 2020 Salzedo St
Cuisine: French, bakery

This Modern Parisian Brasserie and Bakery by Antonio Bachour works for a group of friends that have very different wants for brunch.

You can share some mini arepa fritters with avocado and cotija cheese. They also have all the benedict dishes you could ask for, as well as Croque Madame if you can’t decide between eggs and a sandwich. And if you’re looking for something refreshing we recommend the Seafood Causa Salad from their all-day menu. It comes with a potato causa, poached shrimp, tuna salad, cobia ceviche, crispy quinoa, and cilantro aioli. End your meal with a brewed-to-order coffee paired with a dulce de leche croissant for the table.

BEBITO’S

Neighborhood: South Beach
Address: 1504 Bay Rd #106
Cuisine: Cuban, cafe

Bebito’s is your breakfast spot after pilates or yoga. You’re going to want to spend most of the day here, catching up on emails, or chismeando with friends. It’s the sort of place where you can find chicken and short-rib croquetas but also a fried egg croissant with brie, prosciutto, honey mustard arugula, and caramelized onions. They also have a nova tostada with shaved cucumber tzatziki, beet puree, and pickled white onion with a soft egg. If you’re looking for something lighter, go for the almond butter tostada with fresh banana and Native Guy wildflower honey.

THREEFOLD CAFE

Neighborhood: Coral Gables
Address: 141 Giralda Ave
Cuisine: Australian, cafe

In our eyes, an Aussie breakfast is fulfilling, delicious, and great after hitting the gym. This is exactly why you’re going to Threefold Cafe in Coral Gables. Stop by for an iced latte, a Sausage McScharpy with a fried egg, an Italian sausage patty, cheese, caramelized onion, and tomato jam on a bun. They also have a whole avocado toast section with 6 different options. We recommend Il Piu Italiano with stracciatella, caponata, herbs, pesto, and breadcrumbs.

L’ARTISANE CREATIVE BAKERY & BISTRO

Neighborhood: Coral Gables
Address: 2526 Ponce de Leon
Cuisine: French, vegan

If you’re looking for some good vegan baked goods for a quick brunch, stop by L’Artisane Creative Bakery & Bistro. Chef Carolina Molea is putting her twist on classic French pastries while prioritizing animal welfare.

This casual bakery offers a 100% vegan menu featuring all-day brunch items. Try the Wild Mushroom Croissant with sauteed wild mushrooms, black truffles cream, vegan parmesan cheese, and mushroom crumble.

MAJESTIC PORTUGUESE BAKEHOUSE

Neighborhood: Coral Way
Address: 3340 Coral Way
Cuisine: Portuguese, bakery

If you’re looking for your not-so-typical Latin bakery, check out the Majestic Portuguese Bakehouse located on Coral Way; Part Portuguese (yes, they sell pastel de nata & pão de queijo) and part Venezuelan (cachitos are also available). They have limited seating outside or you can sit inside with the AC, mesmerizing the pastry display.

The menu includes natural juices, scrambled egg dishes, salads, and sandwiches. We recommend going for an informal brunch and trying the Prego Traditional No Pão, Portugues for “Nailed” Steak Sandwich. This popular sandwich in Portugal is a rare find in Miami. The steak is marinated in garlic and is presented on freshly baked bread.
