The restaurants on this list have been selected by The Hungry Post.

The best Peruvian food in the US is in Miami, as well as anything the team behind Llama Inn touches in New York. Here in Miami, you will get an introductory taste of the flavor possibilities to encounter if and when you visit Perú. But before we catch a flight, we’ll be teasing your palates with causas, lomo saltado, chicken a la brasa, cebiche, and tiraditos.

BARRA CALLAO

Neighborhood: North Miami Beach
Address17034 W Dixie Hwy

If you live in Miami and are looking for some of the best Peruvian food, you will have to make a drive to Barra Callao in Aventura. This tiny ceviche bar, with about 10 seats, is one of the best restaurants in Miami. Run by Chef Anthony Verastegui, they serve “chalaco”-style ceviche inspired by the port of Callao. One of the things we love most is that their menu changes daily, depending on the fish they’re able to source.

The Vuelva la Vida seafood cocktail ceviche stood out last time we went, marinated in lime juice and homemade leche de tigre, served with sweet potato, Peruvian corn, and onions. What pushed it into our top three ceviches was the exceptional freshness of the fish and the addition of Hokkaido uni, which added creaminess and umami to an already strong dish.

CORTEZA

Neighborhood: South Miami
Address5760 Sunset Dr

There’s not much in South Miami when it comes to actually good restaurants, so we’re excited about this new addition. It’s called Corteza, and after going once, we’d definitely go back again.

The menu showcases Peruvian and Spanish influences, plus some Japanese touches throughout. It’s one of those menus where you want to try a little bit of everything.

They’re currently running a happy hour Wednesday through Friday from 4 PM to 7 PM, with a second drink on them, plus bites like Classic Gildas and Cinco Jotas Iberian Ham Croquettes.

Don’t skip the Oysters, they’re served with a leche de tigre and Asian mignonette that makes them feel a little different in the best way. We also loved the Hiramasa Tiradito, the Black Grouper Ceviche, and the Steak Tartar with ají limo. For mains, try the Picanha with French fries.

NUNA

Neighborhood: Brickell
Address: Four Seasons Hotel Miami, 1435 Brickell Ave

NUNA, a limited-time dining experience by Chef Jaime Pesaque, is now open at the Four Seasons Hotel Miami in Brickell. Known for Lima’s Mayta, one of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, Pesaque brings his modern take on Nikkei cuisine, blending Japanese technique with Peruvian flavors.

Taking over the Edge Brasserie space for dinner service, NUNA’s menu includes dishes like the NUNA Maki with tuna, panko shrimp, avocado, and acevichada sauce. Their Bluefin Tuna Ceviche received an honorable mention in our Top Ceviches in Miami. It’s dressed in a shoyu ponzu leche de tigre with layers of wasabi, citrus emulsion, roasted avocado, and crispy nori.

The kitchen sources premium Wagyu, fresh seafood, and Peruvian chiles for a focused, ingredient-driven menu. The beverage program includes Japanese whisky, pisco, sake, and signature cocktails designed to match the food’s flavor profile.

ATOMICA

Neighborhood: Design District
AddressMIA Market, 140 NE 39th St #241

Chef Carmen Florencia Ibarra, a former Hell’s Kitchen participant with experience at Itamae and COTE, and Chef Javier Cussato, part of the award-winning La Mar Cebicheria Peruana team under the Acurio International Restaurant Group, have joined forces to bring their dream project, Atomica, to life in 2025.

Located inside the MIA Market food hall in the Design District, this Peruvian spot delivers bold, eclectic flavors that feel elevated and impressive, especially from their tiny and modest kitchen. Highlights include the Atomicausa, made with blue crab, avocado, fermented tomato jam, garlic chips, and Aji sauce; and the refreshing El Tigre ceviche with scallop. We also loved their take on a Lomo Saltado. If you’re serious about exceptional food, this spot deserves a place on your list—thank us later. If you have to pick one ceviche, go with the Cebiche Blanco. It features a sunchoke leche de tigre, charred sweet potato, yellow corn nuts, and artichoke chips. It’s incredibly thoughtful, beautifully balanced, and packed with flavor.

JARANA PERUVIAN CUISINE

Neighborhood: Aventura
Address: 19505 Biscayne Blvd suite 5150

We never thought we’d love a mall restaurant this much, but JARANA is a true hidden gem—one we’d gladly make the drive up to Aventura for. Here we had our first hot ceviche (not currently on the menu), and it changed everything. Don’t sleep on it.

Developed by the team at Acurio International, a subsidiary of Acurio Restaurantes, JARANA is led by Chef Marta Palacios and brings a vibrant take on Peruvian cuisine with Japanese, Chinese, and Italian influences. The restaurant’s extensive menu is packed with bold flavors, with dishes like the Arroz JARANA with Crispy Pork Belly, Chorizo, Peruvian peppers, corn cider, green peas, and choclo–served sizzling on a hot skillet. And we also loved the hearty Seco Limeño, a rich cilantro beef stew, served with white rice, beans, and criolla salad.

SABOR A PERÚ EN MIAMI

Neighborhood: Edgewater
Address: 2927 Biscayne Blvd

We had to include an everyday spot for your Peruvian fix, and Sabor a Perú in Edgewater was the one. This spot has two locations almost next to each other, with a smash burger concept in between—already a good sign in our book.

At Sabor a Perú, you’re going for the food. The space is simple, no frills, and super casual, but the flavors feel like traditional recipes passed down through generations. We love their Ceviche de Pescado and Vuelve a la Vida.

OSAKA

Neighborhood: Brickell
Address: 1300 Brickell Bay Dr

Osaka landed in Brickell as the first North American location of an internationally acclaimed Nikkei restaurant known for its Japanese techniques and Peruvian flavors. The menu features ceviche, tiraditos, makimono, nigiris, and Peruvian izakaya. The restaurant is sleek and upscale–a great spot for a birthday dinner, a date, or your trendy friends who want to dress up but don’t care to go to Miami Beach.

If you’re going on a weekend and you plan to go out after dinner, well then, we recommend you do drinks and shared appetizers at KERO, their cocktail lounge inside the restaurant. It has a fun ambiente.

Sip on inventive cocktails with Fresno pepper, shizo salt, chicha morada ice cubes, and yuzu honey. As far as food goes, order for the center of the table some of our favorites that include the Osk Ceviche with tuna, crispy quinoa, kyuri, yuzu ponzu sauce; Carpassion, salmon carpaccio with passion fruit honey, watercress, and crispy strips. From the nigiri section, we’d get the Inca with cured tuna, ají amarillo, chalaquita, and black quinoa; the Katsu with salmon belly, lemon zest, and white truffle oil; and the Hotate Truffle with Hokkaido scallop, truffle butter, and lime.

EL TAMBO GRILL

Neighborhood: Various locations

It’s rare to find rotisserie chicken this good at this price—especially with two generous sides. A whole Pollo a la Brasa with your choice of two sides or arroz chaufa costs just $32.05, making the drive to Kendall worthwhile.

You can dine in or take it to go. With three locations in Miami, these Peruvians run their operation like clockwork. Their takeout game is strong, making El Tambo Grill a top choice for large groups if you are hosting at home and want to keep it casual. Our go-to sides? The Arroz Chaufa de Pollo and Frijoles Canarios—don’t skip them!
